Our Pastors

Ronnie and Joyce have four children and ten grandchildren. Ronnie was raised in San Antonio, TX, the son of a pastor (he has four brothers), and Joyce was raised north and west of Enid, OK, on a farm – the daughter of a deacon (she has five sisters and two brothers). Growing up, both of them were involved in their local church. They met at Southwestern Assemblies of God College (now SAGU) and after their graduation, they got married (July 1972).

Ronnie was called into the ministry when he was 12 years old, received his Exhorters Permit with the Assemblies of God when he was seventeen, received his License to Preach at the age of 20 and was Ordained at the age of twenty four in 1974, and Joyce was called into the ministry when she was 11 years old and received her License in the early 1980’s and was Ordained in 2011. Upon graduation from Southwestern in 1972, and even before getting married, they accepted the pastorate of First Assembly of God in Princeton, KY. When they were voted in, they informed the church that they had to wait a month for them to take the church because they had to go back to Texas to get married.

They pastored in the states from 1972 until 1987, and that was when they felt God calling them to Guatemala. For the next twenty-nine plus years, they served as missionaries in Latin America – seven years (two different times) in Guatemala, twenty one years in Peru, and a year and a half in Honduras. While on the Foreign Mission field, God greatly blessed their ministry. They helped start many churches and worked with new church plants, built over 100 churches, started, directed and taught in Bible Schools, built a Campground, started a Christian School, Pastors’ Schools, and a lot more.

They were serving in Honduras in 2016, when God led Ronnie into a three-day time of fasting and praying. It was during this time that God changed the direction of their ministry and miraculously led them to Alvarado Worship Center. In fact, they were not even considering leaving Honduras nor were they interested in returning to the states to pastor a church. But God had other ideas. In fact, He was moving toward this goal years before. In 2014 while they were still missionaries in Guatemala, God led them to purchase a house in Midlothian, TX. and that is where they live today.

Pastors Ronnie and Joyce Mask have been the pastors here at Alvarado Worship Center since June 2016. The church has been blessed under their leadership. It is growing, and God is moving. Before Pastor Ronnie, the church had not done much for missions. Under his leadership, the Church has made two Missions trips (Guatemala in 2017, and Honduras in 2018) and we now are supporting Foreign and Home Missionaries around the world. We know that God put Pastor Ronnie and Sister Joyce here and are excited about what God is doing through them!
